Microclimate report

North Oxfordshire:

Today our ivy has begun flowering and is suddenly humming with insects. Flies, hoverflies, things that might be bees but don’t look quite right(?). Wasn’t like this a couple of days ago on our last sunny day – it’s like a switch has been flicked.

As usual our own bees haven’t found it – wrong side of the house – they’re still looting the garden next door which is a bit of an inadvertent wildflower experiment right now.
